Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and GDPR, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").

We will process your request within 30 days and confirm deletion via email. Some data may be retained for legal compliance or legitimate business purposes.

How long does deletion take?

We process deletion requests within 30 days as required by POPIA. You'll receive email confirmation once deletion is complete.

What data is retained after deletion?

We may retain limited data for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or legitimate business purposes, including transaction records, dispute resolution data, and anonymized analytics. All personally identifiable information will be deleted.

Can I reactivate my account after deletion?

No. Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered. You would need to create a new account with a fresh start.

What happens to my communities?

If you're a Community Leader, you can either transfer leadership to another member before deletion or the community will be archived. Community members will retain access to community data unless you choose full deletion.

Do I need to delete my WhatsApp data separately?

hlomo doesn't store WhatsApp message content. We only analyze metadata (timestamps, participation patterns). Deleting your hlomo account removes all associated metadata. Your WhatsApp messages remain unaffected and are managed by Meta/WhatsApp.
