About hlomo

Our mission is to empower communities to create tangible, positive change. We realized that `hlomo` is not just software as a service—it is a way of connecting communities of all kinds. We provide simple, powerful tools that cut through the digital noise, helping groups to organize, communicate effectively, and collaborate on the goals that matter most to them.

`hlomo` was born from a simple observation: our digital lives are scattered. Important neighbourhood updates get lost in chaotic WhatsApp groups, volunteer efforts are tangled in endless email chains, and genuine connection is often drowned out by the noise of social media. We saw a need for a dedicated, private space where communities could focus on action, not distraction.

Starting in Cape Town, we set out to build a platform that serves the people on the ground—the neighbourhood watch captains, the non-profit organizers, the local club leaders. It's a tool built for them, with the belief that when you make it easier for people to connect and organize, incredible things can happen.
